Husband Fakes Death For Insurance Claim Without Informing Wife, She Kills Self Instead

Life is all about problems and whenever we face one, we always tend to blame it on others. If one’s a believer, then they’ll blame it on some version of God. Or they’ll find a bizarre connection to blame it on their peers. However, the truth is that we create our own problems and suffer because of it. One Chinese individual learnt that through a bitter turn of events.

According to the South China Morning Post, a man named He, faked his own death to cheat on his insurance. However, things went sideways after that.

He, who’s from the southern Chinese province of Hunan, had bought a life insurance policy of ₹1 crore on September, without telling his wife. Then he had rented a car from his employer and drove it into a river so that his family could’ve claimed the insurance. But when news of He’s death reached his wife, she couldn’t handle it.

After faking his death, He had fled to Guizhou. However, he was shell-shocked to see a suicide not from his wife, Dai Guihua, online. A part of the letter read,

“I wanted to leave by myself, but thinking that my children would suffer without both their parents, I decided to take them with me.”

In the 1000-word note, Dai said that she had lost the will to face the growing family pressure. She added that He’s family complained about how she spent her money, accused her of being mentally ill and also stopped her from getting a job in the city. And that’s why she saw no other option but to end her and the children’s lives by drowning in a pond near their hometown in Langtang.

As of now, He has surrendered to the police on Friday and has been detained on charges of insurance fraud and intentional damage to property. It’s also been confirmed that He was in debt due to the medication required for curing his daughter’s epilepsy and his car loans.
