It is hard to imagine the kind of pain families of COVID-19 patients are having to go through during this time, especially those who have lost a loved one to the virus. One such family did not just go through the agony of losing a member but were also brought face to face with a piece of terrible news.
According to a report by Gulf News, a woman found out that her husband had married another woman and had betrayed her after he died from COVID-19 at a hospital in Mansoura province in Egypt.
The husband, who lived in the village of Mit Mujahid of the Dikirnis province, was admitted to the Al Sadr Hospital in Mansoura, which is located 120km north of Cairo, after showing severe pneumonia-like symptoms. He underwent 2 COVID-19 tests – the initial one showing negative and the second positive.
His weakened immune system and underlying health conditions combined with COVID-19 caused his death.
When the hospital got in touch with his family asking them to receive the body, the second wife also arrived, shocking the first wife and her children.
The 32-year-old woman revealed how she had been married to the man for several years and they also have 2 kids. The first wife realised how her deceased husband used to spend time with his second wife while telling her that he had to travel for work.
A few witnesses revealed how a quarrel broke out between the two wives. The first wife refused to claim her husband’s body and allegedly said, “The game’s over, I couldn’t even look at him.”
The second wife, however, underwent a coronavirus swab test which turned out to be positive. She was then transferred to an isolation hospital.
The coronavirus has affected this family in more ways than one!
