Ladies, we all know that no matter how much fun you have with your girl gang, there are times when all you want is his whole devoted and unwavering attention on you as you try on that dress he’d picked for you.
Here’s a list of things to keep in mind when taking him out to shop with you:
1. Make a list of things you need to buy
You don’t want to run around from shop to shop and then back again just because you forgot to pick up that exotic smelling lotion, available only at the shop you left two blocks behind! Nobody likes to repeat.
2. Make a conscious effort to be decisive
Agreed to the fact that pink and orange have always been rivals in your eyes, but, you know it in your heart and wallet as to what exactly it is that you do want most of the times. What with the matching accessories that you already have? As adorable as they may act and seem, patience has never been a man’s best virtue. So, don’t be naive and pick that dress already!
3. Too many shops for one thing!
Yes, I know every piece of fabric is only just as good or bad as the last one you held but, you do know you will go to your trusted cotton house for that one fabric, right? Then why linger on woman! It really gets on his nerves, you know.
4. Don’t try to be someone you are not
Okay, you and I both know that that one store is way out of our budget and only special occasions like the Queen visiting would require you to shop from there. And, you know what, he probably knows that too by now. So, why go beyond the horizon?
5. Don’t get into duels – Verbal or otherwise!
It’s always ugly, haggling and arguing. Bargaining is one thing, but a full-fledged argument, you most certainly don’t want that. Besides, it will make him want to run away!
6. Don’t expect him to chip in everywhere
He can pamper you from time to time and occasionally buy you stuff but you are an independent woman to purchase your joys by yourself.
7. Pay heed to his comfort too
He may be the most outspoken, funny and easy guy to have around but even then, going to an all woman’s store, make-up store or the lingerie store may at times prove to be a task for him.
8. Carry your bags, please!
We all have a thing for doe-eyed, love stricken puppy-faced Romeos, BUT, Romeo died! If he is your Prince Charming, treat him as one and carry that godforsaken bag, oops, bags yourself!
9. Get him something
He’s been an absolute darling by complying to your wishes, whether, it be driving you there or waiting for you outside the trial room while you put on those endless shades of red! Treat him with that leather wallet you know he’ll love or better take him to his favourite jersey store and let him indulge himself. The trick here is to reassure him that he is loved too and equally at that.
10. Surprise him
At the end of the day when all you want to do is throw away those heels and take a steam bath, go that extra mile and take him out for a dinner date or better still beer at a bar!
