One of the most amazing things about social media is that everyone can showcase a different side of their personality. I’m not saying they won’t get judged for it. But well, at least, it’s possible. And it’s not just true for people. Even a brand can get a complete image makeover just by changing its communication on social media. And looks like American retail store chain Walmart might be getting a new image tag—Savage AF!
What happened to prompt this? Let me show ya.
It started with Twitter user @Murk361 putting out an innocent enough tweet about how much he enjoys grocery shopping.

Like any normal brand, and keeping in line with its brand image, Walmart’s official Twitter account very nicely replied to Murk.
It's the small things, Murk! What's your favorite thing to do in our stores? 😊

There’s an emoji and everything! So sweet and pure, right? So far, so good.
But Murk here thought he’d milk this attention that he was getting from a brand a little more, and attempted to troll them!

So you know how brands are known to get quite cheeky on Twitter, and sometimes even troll back? Well, Walmart wasn’t ever perceived to be one of them.
But then, it went ahead and shocked the Tweeple when it delivered a savage comeback that might require oodles of aloe vera to be applied to the BURN!
Well played Murk. After further review of our store's video feed we've decided to let you keep the rash cream. Next time tho… pay in full. 😉

Wow. Et tu, Walmart?
The chain of reaction to this epic slapback goes something like this….
