Hilarious Thread: If The Person Who Named Walkie-Talkie Named Other Things

walkie-talkie

Is it just me or do people really wonder who invented the language? I mean, why are certain things called what they are? Did someone just conjure up a mixture of syllables and made words and decided what it will mean? I need some answers!

But thankfully, the newer things have meanings. Sometimes. Like the aeroplane. Or like the walkie-talkie, you know, because you can walk while you talk with it. Funny, isn’t it? What’s funnier is imagining what things would be called if the same person who named walkie-talkie, had to name other things.

Antonia Nicol, a Twitter user, started a hilarious thread about the funny names things would have if the guy who named walkie-talkie named them. She gave a list of names herself which is sure to make you ROFL.

She kept adding on to the list hereon.

It continued to be hilarious with every next word!

Peek-a-boo!

She even named Metropolitan Police.

Then there’s the laundromat.

This is by far the funniest one.

She even trolled KFC, guys!

Pretty soon, other folks joined it and the thread became lit af!

1. Imagine calling the Flashy Dashy.

2. Letter-getter actually sounds so cool.

3. Probably the cutest names though.

4. Never going to have a serious face at the dentist again.

5. Risky whiskey’s my thing, yo!

6. Anything else to add to boaty coaty?

7. Someone had to say it.

8. It just gets funnier.

9. This one’s clever.

10. Saved the best for last, as always.

The creativity that spilt in this thread is so overwhelming. Can you imagine how easy-breezy life would have been if things were actually named this way? Yes, you can see, I am influenced by the thread already and I’ll try using this pattern until I get bored of it. Okie-dokie?
