I’m sure you remember the time when Swara Bhasker riled up a long-withstanding debate when she penned an open letter to Sanjay Leela Bhansali for ‘glorifying Jauhar’ in his period film, ‘Padmaavat’.
If you need a reminder, Swara argued that the director’s treatment to the subject was heavily flawed. In fact, it also resonated with a bunch of viewers who were disappointed that Bhansali did not add any social commentary on the evil practice and left it with disclaimers.
Of course, that was not all. Her opinion garnered a lot of flak and made her lock horns with fellow fraternity members like Suchitra Krishnamoorthy, and the co-writers of Bhansali’s ‘Ram Leela’. In fact, the team including Shahid, Deepika and even Bhansali have come out defending their film. But amidst all the chaos, flames rose high when film-maker Atul Agnihotri called the actress a ‘fake feminist.’
Yes, Swara did slam him for saying so. But seems like, irony is lost on a few. Why do I say that?
Because the ‘Hate Story’ director is seemingly digging old wounds. Yes, Vivek Agnihotri recently took to Twitter and shared an article, claiming that Swara’s letter was a PR stunt.
Didn’t I tell you guys from the beginning that the infamous ‘Vagina Letter’ was a PR stunt. #Padmavat #FakeFeminism pic.twitter.com/EeJggQT8BB

“Didn’t I tell you guys from the beginning that the infamous ‘Vagina Letter’ was a PR stunt.
#Padmavat#FakeFeminism”
Problem? Well, it lies in the fact that he did not read the entire copy. While the article does say that something was orchestrated by Swara’s PR team, it was for Arjun Rampal’s conversation with her and not the team. In fact, if anything, it clearly states how the brave lady stands by what she said even in the face of opposition.
Yes, Vivek Agnihotri made a boo boo!
And needless to say, the Internet is tearing him apart. See for yourself.

That’s why they say, read carefully before you invest, words and thoughts in this case. Wonder if Swara has anything to say about this.
