India’s 1st OG All-Girl Band ‘Viva’ Reunites To Sing Their Popular Song Amid Lockdown

The ’90s was a phase of transition. From romancing to the evergreen love songs of Shah Rukh Khan to banging my head to the Indian pop singles, there was a major shift in the choice of music I grew up listening to. But one of the bands that had a major influence on me back in the days was India’s first all-girl band ‘Viva’.

The Indian pop girl band comprised of singers Seema Ramchandani, Pratichee Mohapatra, Neha Bhasin, Mahua Kamat, and Anushka Manchanda. The OG all-girl band blessed us with some chartbuster tracks like ‘Jaago Zara’, ‘Jaha Ho Pyar Ka Mausam’ and ‘Hum Naye Geet Sunaye’. But sadly, the girls parted ways soon after the release of their second music album.

However, the good news is that they have now reunited after 15 years to give us a piece of the good old days, reports News 18. Taking to Instagram, Anushka Manchanda, one of the band members shared a video of their rendition of the popular song ‘Jaago Zara’.

The video features other popstars including Pratichee Mohapatra, Neha Bhasin and Mahua Kamat. Anushka also wrote a lengthy note thanking all the people who made their reunion possible. She says that the song ‘Jago Zara’ is the sign of the times, and yet, it is timeless adding that it’s for the ones who need strength, love, power and support.

Here’s the original video:

I am sure the 90’s kid in you would be jumping in excitement. Thank you, guys, for this opportunity to relive our childhood memories.
