Now That Viserion Is An ICE DRAGON, Here’s How Much Damage It Can Do In The Great War

While we are still recuperating from the latest episode of ‘Game of Thrones’, it seems like winter has finally come for the viewers as well. We mourned Viserion’s death like no other character (except for Hodor!), but his resurrection by the Night King might prove to be the cause of more tragedy.

The episode ended on a devastating note when Viserion was turned into an “Ice Dragon”. Yes, you heard that right!

All hell broke loose when Viserion died!

1. People were mourning and how!

2. This is what we are praying for.

3. I feel you, Drogon!

Now that we know Viserion is not an ordinary undead dragon, will he be loyal to the cause of the other side?

Will he kill his brothers and his mother?

What devastation will he bring about in the coming war?

Most importantly, was the concept of an Ice Dragon a novel one in the series?

Apparently, we were fated for this torture when George RR Martin wrote a children’s book called ‘The Ice Dragon’ long before he wrote ‘A Song Of Ice And Fire’. (read 1980)

The story was set in a world which seems like an earlier version of Westeros, where ‘Game of Thrones’ unfolds. It is a story of a girl Adara, who is best friends with an Ice Dragon and tames him to ultimately defeat fire dragons who attack her village.

The story entails that Ice Dragons have ice crystal wings and big blue eyes, exactly like Viserion when he was resurrected.

Wait, whaaaattt!!??

Also, Ice Dragons are much more powerful and superior to fire dragons because according to the story, one Ice Dragon can defeat multiple fire dragons!

It might seem like all hope is lost for us with Viserion joining the Army of the Dead. But we have a glimmer of hope in the dark night. What is it you ask?

Fortunately, Ice Dragons are not invincible. They supposedly melt when slain, but this information is worthless without knowing how it’s done. Can someone send a raven with a copy of ‘The Ice Dragon’?

You might think that we are spinning stories but we have proof that the Ice Dragons could be real.

A passing reference to Ice Dragons is made in the accompanying book The World of Ice and Fire, where Ice Dragons are rumoured to soar over The Shivering Sea.

It could just be me but I feel this crucial information needs to reach Jon and Dany who are clueless about the impending danger looming over them and all of the mankind! There is literally no time for romance! FML!

So, now we can assume that the reason for the Night King to strike down Viserion and take the effort to retrieve him out of the icy water was far more tactical than we believed. It can be speculated that future episodes might lead into a battle where Viserion will fight his brothers and might actually defeat them. *slips quietly in denial*
