Life happened for Indian cricketer Virat Kohli in a way that he had only imagined. From training at West Delhi Cricket Academy in New Delhi to becoming the male cricketer of the decade, his story definitely deserves to be made into a movie. His love and passion for the sport brought him to great heights and earned him a spot among the greatest cricketers.

As a kid, he not just aimed to become an Indian cricketer, but he also saw himself getting married to an actress. Recently, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) released a video about their star player wherein they shared some anecdotes about his childhood. They also invited Kohli’s childhood coach, friend, and his friend’s mother to share memories about him.

The video opens up with Rajkumar Sharma, Kohli’s childhood coach, divulging that from his initial days of joining the academy, they knew Virat was unique.
“He was a very hyper, very naughty guy, always willing to do everything on his own. From that time only everyone knew he was a different child.”
Not just a great cricketer, he was and still is a huge foodie. Talking about it, his friend Shalaj shared:
“After every session, every day we had chowmein, burger, and momos from ‘Chuk Chuk Mail’, a Chinese van, which was just outside the academy. Virat and I used to bet who can eat how much. Then ‘Rama’s Chole Bhature’, everyone knows about it. Great emotions were attached to childhood.”

While sharing about his bachpan with little Cheeku (Virat’s childhood name) Shalaj also gave a glimpse of the scrapbook that Virat had filled back in 2003. In that memory book, Virat wrote that he wants to represent the Indian cricket team one day.
Shalaj’s mother Shalaj Sondhi also shared about an incident where Virat, after watching a poster of an ad, said that one day he’ll become so big that he’ll marry a heroine.
