After yesterday’s win over arch-rivals Pakistan, there’s not an iota of doubt that Viral Kohli is THE heir to Sachin’s legacy.
In case you missed, the world witnessed a historical moment during the match yesterday.
Celebrities who flew down to watch the match at the stadium were Amitabh Bachchan, Mukesh Ambani and family, Abhishek Bachchan and none other than God himself, Sachin and his family. (and ofcourse there was Aftab Shivdasani too :D)
After reaching his half-century, Virat Kohli bowed down towards the stand as an emotional gesture towards his childhood idol, Sachin Tendulkar.
Sachin acknowledged the reverence by showing a thumbs-up, smiling ear to ear
He later took to Twitter to thank Kohli for the show of respect
Great Win Team India. Thank you for the innings and gesture @imVkohli! #IndvsPak (1/2)

Virat, during the post match conversation confirmed that the bow was indeed a show of respect to his idol. He said, “I started playing cricket because of him.
Thank you for the positive energy & wishes. To do it in front of my idol @sachin_rt feels surreal. #Grateful pic.twitter.com/YaOMT4T6oD

“I started playing cricket because of him. Seeing him in the stands, and to be able to do that in front of 90,000 people against Pakistan in a crucial game..him celebrating and getting happy; I can’t explain that feeling.”
