Woman Reveals She Kicked Her BF Out Of Their Home For Verbally Abusing Her Cat, People React

While most people instantly cheer up after watching a hilarious cat video; there are people who despise cats and even other pets. One woman found herself in a tricky situation when she realized that her boyfriend couldn’t stand her cat. Mirror UK reveals the 24-year-old has had ‘Millie’ since she was a kitten.

She was aware that her partner preferred dogs, however, she was in for a surprise when she asked her boyfriend to move in with her.

“When we started to get serious about moving in, he asked if I would consider giving her away, because he didn’t like the idea of living with a cat. I almost laughed before realising he was serious. I told him that under no circumstances would I get rid of my cat. I felt guilty about being unwilling to compromise, but he reassured me that if she was this important to me, he’d get over it,” she wrote.

Her 30-year-old boyfriend moved in with her. However, one evening he came home without realizing the woman was in the kitchen.

She reveals what happened before she could let her boyfriend know that she was home, “Millie was on the couch and I heard him go into the room and say, ‘You’re so fucking worthless.’ It terrified me, because I’ve never ever heard him speak with such malice. He sounded like a different person. It was just so cold and hostile that I panicked, and rushed out there to see him looking at Millie.”

Incredibly upset because her partner verbally abused her cat, she picked up the animal and asked the man to leave the apartment.

A little while later, when the boyfriend returned, he admitted that he often called the cat mean names, “I’ll often call Millie little names and he said he was just trying to be playfully mean too and misjudged his tone. But he said it felt awful that I chose a cat over him, and that I called it ‘my’ apartment when it’s supposed to be our place. He told me he was constantly feeling second best to Millie, who I wouldn’t even consider rehoming, and I had thrown him out over an animal when he’s a person.”

She reveals that she conveyed just how much he means to her and apologised for making him feel like the apartment wasn’t his home. However, she took to Reddit to question whether people believed she was wrong to kick him out.

Many suggested that she was right to be upset and expressed concern for the cat’s safety. Some suggested she break it off with her partner as well.
