Varun Dhawan is winning immense praise for his performance as Zafar in Kalank. The actor is seen flaunting his chiseled muscles, fighting with fire and bulls in the epic saga by Karan Johar. The rough and tough avatar of Varun in the film wasn’t just about the VFX and camera angles. He had his beast mode on since months to tone his abs for the role in the film and his Instagram stories are proof enough!

His character of Zafar in Kalank demanded strength, intensity, and fire of a fighter. Varun had shed his sweat performing all the stunts in the film himself.

“I would define the entire experience as the most challenging role I have done so far. It was really challenging as I had to do all the stunts by myself like going through a wringer, me banging myself against the wall and jumping off heights,” says Varun, reported Mid-Day.

Kalank has become the highest grossing opener of 2019 by far in Bollywood. Moving on from the success of his film, Varun Dhawan has already started shooting for Remo D’souza’s dance film Street Dancer 3D.

The film stars Shraddha Kapoor and Nora Fatehi in the leading roles. However, Katrina Kaif was earlier finalized as the female lead for the film but she eventually walked out.

Talking about Katrina’s exit from the film Varun told Mid-Day, “It would have been a wonderful opportunity, but things didn’t work out due to the unavailability of dates. She was keen to do the film and even requested us to postpone it slightly. But logistically, that wouldn’t have been possible since a lot of arrangements was already done.”

After giving back to back hits like October, Judwaa 2, Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya among others, Varun says that success and failure is a part and parcel of life. “I am not scared of failure, but each movie is a challenge. I work harder with each project and try and improve my work constantly,” he says.

Varun has certainly raised the bar for himself with his splendid performance in Kalank. Let’s wait and watch what he has in store for his fans in Street Dancer 3D!
