Varun Dhawan Takes A U-turn And Apologises For Chanting “Nepotism Rocks” At IIFA

The IIFA awards ceremony was full of entertainment, goof ups, and drama. A LOT of drama. Karan Johar, Saif Ali Khan, and Varun Dhawan took massive digs at Kangana Ranaut over the nepotism tirade.

Varun Dhawan won the best actor in a comic role award for his performance in Dishoom. While on stage, the trio had this to say,

“I’M HERE BECAUSE OF MY FATHER, SAIF IS HERE BECAUSE OF HIS MOTHER, AND VARUN IS HERE ALSO BECAUSE OF HIS FATHER. WHAT’S THE BIG DEAL?”

They then chanted, “Nepotism rocks.”

However, these comments did not go down well with a lot of people and many took to Twitter to slam the three.

1. A valid point, indeed!

2.  A lot of growing up to do, according to him at least…

3. TRUE

4. Yes, would they do it?

After facing severe backlash, actor Varun Dhawan took to Twitter and apologised in a couple of tweets.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but making fun of them at an international event and taking digs at them is just not fair. While the youngest of the three has apologised, will the others follow suit? We sincerely hope they do!
