It is that time of the year again for us single guys, pretending to not give a damn about February 14.
But deep inside every single guy does give a damn, and who can blame them? Loneliness in the midst of the celebration of love is a hard thing to bear, even if we are happy for the other people who have found love.
On these days, there is always a part of me that goes into wishful thinking.

1. I get up and get a happy valentines day text from a girl
What I actually get – a WhatsApp forward on family group, a nude on college friends group and a “hello, when are you reaching office” from the boss.
2. Someone who lights up into a smile when they see me in the morning
Not the housemaid’s face when you accidentally step onto her freshly mopped floor.
3. A girl buys a gift for me
For once. For once. OH GOD FOR ONCE!
4. A girl gets me just by looking at me from across the room
The exact opposite of a 3000 slide powerpoint presentation to a group of ape-headed executives.
5. Someone tells me to go and get it!
Instead of the one person in your life who tries to put you down at every bloody instance.
6. Someone takes care of me
For one day, so that I can shed the “masculinity” and all the phony chivalry.
7. Someone finds me incredibly handsome even without me trying at all
When I am sloppy and untidy as fuck in the morning, and not when I have to dress up to impress people.
8. Someone who tells me that she loves me
Without any prompting, without any wooing, without any dates, without any complications, without me saying it first.
Gaah.
