A 24-year-old woman named Kshama Bindu from Vadodara has been dominating headlines recently. This happened after the news of her getting married to herself spread like wildfire. The ceremony is set to take place on June 11 and she says that it’s an act of self-love.
According to News18, her wedding is to have all the elements that a usual wedding has, except for the groom. Kshama will perform the rituals, put sindoor on her forehead and has also written five vows for herself. After the wedding, she also plans on going on a honeymoon trip to Goa for two weeks.
“I never wanted to get married. But I did want to become a bride. So I decided to marry myself,” she said, adding that her parents were open-minded about her decision and approved of her choice.
Soon after, #Sologamy started to trend online. The term means a marriage of a person to themselves. From memes to jokes to genuine questions, here’s what people have to say:
Who called it #Sologamy and not "khud hi se maine Ishq kiya re"

When your parents don't allow you for the Goa trip, marry yourself and go on a 2 weeks honeymoon to Goa

Why there’s hue and cry about sologamy, when you can marry a tree then why can’t you marry yourself?

The closest I’ve come to this is that I bought myself a diamond ring 💍 which I wear & when anyone asks about it.. I tell them I’m married to myself 🤷♀️ but I never actually did the ceremony. (Ring also serves to keep away unwanted attention)#ThursdayThoughts #Sologamy https://t.co/TlAFUOIteh

So she gets involved in any relationship after this, will it be called extramarital affair? Just an enquiry🤔
Also if she starts to hate herself , can she file for divorce?🤔

This isn’t the first case where a woman decided to get married to herself. In the past, a woman named Taylor Morrison living in Georgia, USA, married herself in an intimate yet beautiful ceremony where she wore a wedding dress, cut a huge cake, said vows to herself and then kissed herself in the mirror.
