Vadodara Cop Braves Neck-Deep Floods To Rescue 45-Day Old Infant! Watch Viral Video

Monsoon is causing a havoc all across India. For the past week, states of Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat have been been suffering from floods in various regions. But even with disasters everywhere, we find that our faith in humanity is restored by some good Samaritans in times of peril.

Vadodara has been in a state of peril ever since its streets turned to rivers. Rescue teams had been deployed for the aid of residents who’re stuck in the flood. And in that light, a cop, Govind Chavda seems to have gone beyond the call of duty and his gallant act is winnings hearts online. A viral video shows him carrying an infant over his head through the neck-deep flood waters.

The video received plenty of positive reactions from the netizens dubbing the cop a hero. Reportedly, despite the threat, several rescue teams of NDRF, SDRF, army and fire brigade along with local police are working day and night to evacuate over 5,000 people from low-lying areas to safe shelters. Govind Chavda is one such cop who has truly made a difference to lives of those affected by the floods.

The tweet claims that the cop has saved more than 70 people stuck in the residential areas. One of which was this 45-days old infant, whom he carried in a plastic tub! Soon after the pictures and video went viral, love poured in for the cop’s rescue efforts.

Gujarat Police is also responding and providing instant support and relief via social media platforms like Twitter.

However it still continues to rain in the city, weather forecast expects the intensity to decrease in the upcoming days. Vadodara might receive another heavy rain spell till August 4th.

But it’s the efforts of cops like Govind Chavda and others, that ensure citizens still have faith in such grim times when disaster strikes. We hope that the floods soon recede. Our prayers are with the residents and rescue teams in the impacted regions.
