Forget Work From Home, Uttarakhand Offers Work From Mountains To Promote Tourism!

As the tourism industry has suffered a massive hit due to the pandemic, many places are coming up with unique campaigns to entice tourists to pay a visit. A few weeks back, the Uttarakhand government had announced that they will be paying tourists to vacation in their popular destinations in a bid to boost tourism in the state.

And now, taking advantage of the new normal that is ‘work from home’, the Uttarakhand state government is urging people to work from the mountains or as they call it, to take a ‘workcation’.

According to The New Indian Express, Uttarakhand has made a list of cosy homestays amidst lush green, lofty hills, and fresh air in locations such as Jim Corbett, Lansdowne, Mussoorie, Kausani, Dehradun, Nainital, etc. They are planning to offer “pocket-friendly” workcation packages to people which can be “tailor-made” as per demand.

“Workcation has lately become the trending concept of vacation. With people working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic, this concept has become a much-needed escape and a great opportunity to take your work on a holiday break,” said Dilip Jawalkar, Secretary of Tourism, Uttarakhand.

One can also include outdoor activities in their workcation package including trekking, biking, birdwatching, stargazing, etc. to take a break from work. According to Outlook, people will be offered high-speed internet connectivity, power back-up, a comfortable stay, medical and first aid facilities, healthy and fresh food, room service and other facilities.

If you’re craving a vacation but also need to work from home, this is ideal for you!
