Planning a wedding is no joke! It requires months of preparation and hard work to book the perfect venue, make decor arrangements, chose food caterers and send out invitations to all your guests. It is such a serious affair that there are pre-wedding courses conducted for brides and grooms.
But what happens when someone asks you to change your wedding venue and plan an entirely new wedding in just 48 hours? You panic, of course! Ohio-based Ashley Hall had planned her dream Indian wedding months ago and booked a venue, a star hotel in Kerala in advance as well. Her hopes came crashing when President Ramnath Kovind’s security team notified her to change the venue as he was visiting the hotel on the day of her marriage, reports the Indian Express.
The soon-to-be bride took to Twitter to share her dismay:
Sometimes you plan a destination wedding for 8 months at an elite hotel in India.
Sometimes the President of India makes an impromptu trip to that hotel on the day of the wedding.
Sometimes you get 48 hours notice to plan an entirely new wedding.

Ashley who took eight months to plan the destination wedding later tweeted an appeal to the official Rashtrapati Bhavan handle:
Hey @rashtrapatibhvn– anything you can do to help us with your security team so that we don’t have to move our wedding from the @Taj_Cochin in under 48 hours? https://t.co/0S5y9az9Hk

Surprisingly, things worked in favor of the couple as top cops of the city made arrangements ensuring that the visit of the President didn’t cause any interference during their big day, reports NDTV.
The grateful bride thanked the hotel and state officials for their help:
I want to thank the @Taj_Cochin and State Officials for working on this with us throughout the day. Hoping we can have a beautiful wedding with the blessings of The Honorable @rashtrapatibhvn. https://t.co/i6lR4D9YDQ

The newlyweds received best wishes from the President as well:
We are glad the issues have been resolved. President Kovind conveys his best wishes to you on this joyous occasion
— President of India (@rashtrapatibhvn) January 5, 2020
Many people sent best wishes to the couple and appreciated the President’s thoughtful gesture:
Huge respect for president sir 🙏🙏🙏

Few people also felt that the bride’s tone while addressing the President was a little rude:
Next time it would be more appreciated if you can be respectable to the President rather than a "HEY"

Given how rigid these things are in india you truly are blessed. And yes the tone was a bit rude. Have a happy marriage ❤️

Hey you are not asking your buddy, when you ask for a request there should be some politeness… your are asking my countries presidential office…. first learn to give respect the country you visit….

Glad that your marriage went ahead without issues. But apologize for your tone… The President nor his office is not your next door neighbor.

The president had arrived at the port city’s Naval Air Station and was en route Lakshadweep for an official visit. Congratulations to the lucky couple!
