Even though smartphones have made our lives easy, they are also one of the reasons why most of us get distracted while working or even studying. The continues urge to check messages and notifications, scroll through social media or play games are often the reason why some of us can’t concentrate on what we are doing. Don’t believe it? Well, ask a desi parent about it and they’ll write a book on how our phone is the root cause of every problem.
Hence, when a UPSC aspirant asked IPS officer Arun Bothra for tips on how to prepare for the civil service examination, even Bothra advised him to switch to a ‘less smart’ phone. Responding to the aspirant’s tweet, Bothra said how he should consider replacing his mobile with Nokia 5310.
Here’s his tweet:

Bothra’s humorous advice tickled the funny bones of many online. Some even said that it’s the best advice to date.

On being asked, what should people who have exhausted their number of attempt to appear for the examination do, Bothra suggested:

Well, IMO, it is seemingly difficult to function without a smartphone, however, it is also true that we are easily distracted in this digital world and that hampers our concentration. What do you think of his response? Tell us.
