UpGrad CEO Travels To Office On Tractor Amid Massive Floods In Bangalore, Shares Video

Torrential rainfall has left most parts of the city of Bangalore submerged in floods. Visuals of posh localities waterlogged, vehicles partially submerged, and employees trying to go to office via tractors have gone viral on social media.

One such person was Arjun Mohan, the CEO of UpGrad, who had to travel to work via a tractor. He took to LinkedIn to share his ordeal.

“Entire area around Bellandur and Outer Ring Road is submerged and apartments are without power or water. I had to walk 7 km, take a tractor to cross waist-deep water and hitch rides from passing bikers to reach office 😊 Quite an adventurous day,” he wrote.

The UpGrad CEO further added, “Bellandur is home to some of the biggest tech brands in the world. Their Indian HQ with the best coders are located here and the area contributes to double-digit % of India’s software exports. It’s also one of the fastest growing clusters for product companies in India.”

This is particularly alarming as Bellandur, along with other localities that house top companies such as Kormangala, HSR Layout, Whitefield, etc. are suffering from the same problem.

He shared a video too, wherein one can see how people are travelling on tractors to reach office.

What a shameful state of affairs in a state which is called the ‘Silicon Valley of India’.
