4 ‘Fake’ Teachers Busted In UP For Pretending To Be ‘Swati Tiwari’ To Bag Govt Jobs

A few months ago, the ‘Anamika Shukla scam’ rocked the state education department wherein an Uttar Pradesh teacher earned Rs. 1 crore in a year by working at 25 schools simultaneously.

As per a report in TOI, now Uttar Pradesh’s STF (Special Task Force) has traced 4 women working as government teachers using the same educational documents and identity of another teacher named Swati Tiwari. 2 of these fake teachers were found to be working in Deoria, and the other two were found in Barabanki and Sitapur respectively. The real Swati Tiwari works as a government teacher in Gorakhpur.

The investigation started when a man named Bajrang Bhushan informed the STF that a person was working as a teacher in Sitapur using his educational documents, ASP officer Satyasen said. He continued, “After finding the details from the education department, we nabbed the fake teacher, Hrishikesh Mani Tripathi.”

After further questioning, Tripathi revealed that his wife Snehlata also used the documents of another teacher, Swati Tiwari, to bag a job at a government school.

The STF eventually traced the real Swati in Gorakhpur, and also the 3 other women who used her documents for the job. The fake teacher in Barabanki has been arrested, and the two in Deoria have been suspended. Sitapur’s Snehlata, however, is on the run.
