Earlier this month, a police constable from Uttar Pradesh posted in the Firozabad district went viral for calling out the authorities for serving them inedible food that even dogs would reject.

On watching the video go viral, several people expressed concern for his job and his well-being as he decided to stand against the authorities. And as speculated, the cop identified as constable Manoj Kumar was sent away on a long holiday. He was also taken to a mental asylum in Agra to be declared mentally unstable.

Watch him share all that happened with him after he protested against the quality of food served at the mess in Police Lines.

One might think that he has some hidden agenda to defame the authorities. But it’s not just him who complained against the food quality provided to our police personnel.

Recently, the Mainpuri Superintendent of Police (SP) in Uttar Pardesh, Kamlesh Dixit, gave a surprise visit and conducted an impromptu inspection at the local mess at the Mainpuri police line only to find out the substandard quality of food being served to the jawans, reported Hindustan Times.

He went through the casseroles and vessels and was disappointed by the quality of the food. When he walked inside the kitchen, he found watery dal and unappetizing sabji.

Evidently, he was furious and reprimanded the mess manager for serving such quality food. He also gave them warnings and asked them to improve their condition.

“Instructions have been issued to the staff concerned after the checking. The food being prepared was of inferior quality, and thus, RI and the mess manager were directed to improve food quality. Gazetted officers were asked to make random checks at the Police Lines and mess and ensure improvement in food quality,” SP Mainpuri said.

He also added, “We encouraged the personnel to report the quality of food especially if it is not up to the mark. The state government is fully inclined to provide a sufficient budget so that our staff living away from home gets good food. We will ensure proper quality food to our personnel in the future.”

This is what people online have to say about this incident.

However, when the next day the SP went to check again, the quality of food had improved which was also testified by the staff.

Clearly, the UP cop who was sent on leave was saying the truth. We hope this SP is not transferred or sent on a holiday by corrupt officials for standing against the system.
