UP Govt Official Insensitively Shouts At Grieving Mother Who Lost Her Son In Accident

On Wednesday morning, 10-year-old Anurag lost his life. He was travelling to school via a school bus which was allegedly crowded, causing him to feel suffocated. As he felt nauseous, he leaned his head outside the window hoping for some fresh air. It was then that the driver took an abrupt turn, causing Anurag to hit an electricity pole. He died on the spot.

According to NDTV, a case has been registered against the bus driver and another staff at Modinagar but not against the school, named Dayawati Modi Public School. Now, how is this the school’s fault? Well, Anurag’s parents claimed that the school did not take “standard precautions” on the bus, that there were too many students on the bus and none to supervise them.

Hence, Anurag’s parents and a few other people protested against the school. However, in a video that has now gone viral, the Sub Divisional Magistrate of Modinagar, Shubhangi Shukla, is seen screaming at Anurag’s mother, Neha Bharadwaj, while she was protesting and asking her to “shut up”. Neha, as you can see from the video, was naturally inconsolable after the death of her child. But the insensitive SDM kept shouting at her.

Here’s a look at the video:

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognizance of the issue and promised strict action. Not only against the school, bus staff and the Transport Department, but he also ordered fitness checks for school buses.

Imagine the grief of the mother who not just lost her child, but was also disrespected in public by a government official.
