Well, do you remember the robber in Tamil Nadu who broke into a grocery shop with empty cash chest and left an ’emotional’ feedback note for the shop owner?
A similar, unusual case of robbery has come to light in Pune recently. A 36-year-old man, Anil Rajbha from Uttar Pradesh used to fly to Pune in Maharashtra frequently. He used to check-in luxury hotels during his stay in the city. Now, all this sounds quite normal and much like like anybody on a business trip would do. But things are about to get more fishy!
The man turned out to be a thief who used to break into local homes in the industrial town of Pimpri-Chinchwad during his stay in Pune.
“While investigating some housebreaking cases in the Wakad area, we scanned a lot of CCTV footages of hotels and lodges. While checking one such CCTV footage, the hotel staff informed us about one person whose movements were found to be suspicious,” a senior officer of the Wakad police station told NDTV.
The police investigated more on the matter and traced Anil’s location. He was arrested from Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh. During his custodial interrogation, Anil also confessed to having executed a few housebreakings in Pune.
“Rajbhar was arrested and during his custodial interrogation, he confessed to having executed a couple of housebreakings in the Wakad area. We have also recovered gold ornaments and a laptop, collectively worth Rs. 8 lakh,” the police officer said.
Explaining the modus operandi of the accused the officer said, “He used to fly down to Pune frequently and stayed in a hotel for 2 to 3 days. During that period, Rajbhar used to commit house burglaries in a particular area and then fly back to his native state with the booty.”
Seems like even the burglars have become too advanced these days! What are your thoughts on the entire incident?
