UP Cops Organize A Procession To Respectfully Cremate Doggo They Met At A Chai Tapri

Even though most of us adore dogs, only a handful prefer bringing home the Indie dogs from our street. However, there are some good samaritans who have accepted them with open arms. In fact, they are being given the much-deserved respect.

Recently, the Uttar Pradesh police gave a respectful farewell to a stray doggo who used to hang out near the police station after being abandoned by his owner.

Times Now reports that the dog belonged to a tea vendor near the station in Meerut. However, at the beginning of the coronavirus lockdown, the chaiwala Rakesh left him on the streets. Since then, he has been living at the station premises.

The Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) personnel named the dog ‘Rakesh’, after his owner, and started looking after him. But sadly, the five-year-old Rakesh succumbed to a kidney and liver infection. The cops were so emotionally connected with the dog that they decided to bury him with full honors.

Impressed by their act, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also gave a shoutout to the PAC personnel during his recent Mann Ki Baat speech.

This is how people reacted to their wonderful deed:

We are so proud of these cops for showing everyone how animals should be treated-with love and respect.
