How many times have we looked at job opportunities online only to get dejected by the unrealistic expectations some employers set? How many times have we said to ourself ‘Humse na ho payega’ after we find a job that’s perfect for us only to see they need 150 years of experience? Rehne do, we all know the answer. *sigh*
People online are discussing such bizarre job criteria and expectations that some employers set during their hiring process. For example, this guy came across a job posting recently which demanded 4-years of experience on a web API framework that was created 1.5 years ago!
I saw a job post the other day. 👔
It required 4+ years of experience in FastAPI. 🤦
I couldn't apply as I only have 1.5+ years of experience since I created that thing. 😅
Maybe it's time to re-evaluate that "years of experience = skill level". ♻

Soon, many others took to the comment section to share stories of the various pointless and funny expectations different employers they came across had! Have a look:

Last year I got rejected during a job interview for “not understanding” the concepts of a certain iOS library. What the interviewer didn’t know: I wrote that thing. I actually had a lot of fun during that interview 🤣

Many iOS developer positions say they want 7+ years experience in Swift. How are you going to say that when Swift was first released in 2014?

Yeah, I have 25 years of experience eating food and I still bite my tongue and inhale macaroni on, like, a REGULAR basis. So experience and skill don't always correlate.

This is the same thing I mentioned on my thread the other day – why are recruiters or HR writing unrealistic Job Specification & Job Description? https://t.co/iAowlph5cP
