It’s the first day of February. This means…. no, we are not referring to the upcoming Valentine’s Day. It’s the day when the budget of India is presented.
The Union Budget 2022 has already been announced by our Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Parliament.
I propose to provide that any income from transfer of any virtual digital asset shall be taxed at the rate of 30%. No deduction in respect of any expenditure or allowance shall be allowed while computing such income, except cost of acquisition: FM Nirmala Sitharaman#Budget2022 pic.twitter.com/DHQvZsRyeN

During her speech, the minister said that this year, India is likely to see a growth of 9.27%. It was also announced that startups will be promoted for ‘Drone Shakti’, reported Republic World.
Setting up of the digital university, launching of National Tele Mental Health program, 80 lakh affordable houses under PM Awas Yojna in 2022-23, 75 digital banks in 75 districts, e-passport with an embedded chip, tax incentives for startups, 30% tax on virtual digital assets were among the key highlights of the budget.
Obviously, countrymen had a lot of expectations from this year’s budget and not everyone can be satisfied. Hence, people took to social media to roast this year’s budget via jokes and memes.
