Bahrain Is Sinking An Airplane So You Can Dive Into The World’s Largest Underwater Theme Park!

The mysteries of the sea have fascinated us since forever. Stunning coral reefs and the unique flora and fauna that thrives in the oceans have been the subject of study for many divers and marine experts. Which is why it is not surprising that many people are combining the element of water with things they normally do. Underwater photoshoots, for example. Also, remember the world’s biggest underwater restaurant ‘Under’ that opened in Norway?

Pretty soon, we’ll be able to visit the world’s largest underwater theme park too! Named ‘Dive Bahrain,’ it is all set to open in August this year and its main attraction is a decommissioned Boeing 747 aircraft!

According to CNN Travel, the 100,000 square meter park is located off city Diyar Al Muharraq, Bahrain. A 70-meter-long plane will be submerged underwater and divers from around the globe can marvel at it. In addition, the park will have a replica Bahraini pearl merchant’s house, artificial coral reefs and art sculptures.

The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Agency reveals that the entire project is eco-friendly and the Boeing jet will be turned into an artificial reef.
