This Company Adopted A 4-Day Work Week & Gave Employees A Pay Hike! Boss Are You Listening?

The most relatable thing about adulting is that you come to hate Mondays, and Tuesdays, and all other days which were basically not the weekend! The entire week kind of wears you down little by little and by the time it’s Sunday, you’d rather spend the entire day in bed because that’s how exhausted you get!

We yearn for more holidays and day-offs. We wish our Sundays were longer. We try thinking of bizarre ideas like how to retire in your 20s, or how to earn money while sleeping!

However, one UK company understands millennial problems and has started a 4-day work week policy!

According to sources, Portcullis Legals in Plymouth, England, has not just switched to a 4-day work week policy, but has also given its employees a raise! The company claims that a 3-day off makes their employees happier and increases the overall productivity of the firm, thereby increasing profits.

The Managing Director of the firm said, “The initial results have been heartening – our team is happier and our customers are receiving a better service.”

At first, Portcullis Legals tested the policy with a 5-month trial with nine staff members. After seeing a huge difference in their performance, they decided to make it permanent.

“I’ve contacted businesses far and wide to find out the benefits and pitfalls of the four-day week, working with academics and industry leaders to find out the best way to apply the four-day week to Portcullis. The response has been extraordinary and there’s a real passion to help other firms achieve a happier working week for their staff”, said the Managing Director.

He further added, “Our staff have been more motivated and productive – I’m delighted we’ve been able to make it work and provide an even better service for customers, and a great working environment for our team.”
