‘Twilight’ Author Stephenie Meyer Confirms Release Date For New Book ‘Midnight Sun’

The lockdown certainly has its fair share of nostalgic moments. Old TV shows like ‘Ramayan’ and ‘Shaktimaan’ are being aired again on Doordarshan, bands like ‘Viva’ are reuniting for virtual performances and J.K.Rowling has launched ‘Harry Potter at home’.

Now, Stephenie Meyer is reviving ‘The Twilight Saga’ with a new book named ‘Midnight Sun’. According to The Guardian, it will tell the story from vampire Edward Cullen’s perspective and will be published on August 4, 2020.

Mail Online quoted the author saying, “It’s a crazy time right now and I wasn’t sure if it was the right time to put this book out, but some of you have been waiting for just so, so long. It didn’t seem fair to make you wait anymore. Hopefully this book can be a fun distraction from the real world. I’m so excited to finally be able to share it with you.”

The first book in the series was published in 2005 followed by sequels ‘New Moon’, ‘Eclipse’, and ‘Breaking Dawn’. A gender-swapped version of the fictional tale was also released earlier titled ‘Life and Death’. The saga has been adapted into a movie franchise starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in lead roles.

Fans are excited to finally read the retelling which was first announced in 2008 but shelved due to illegal leaks of the manuscript.

So many childhood memories flooding back during the quarantine. Have you read the books or seen the movies? Tell us.
