Women Find Men Who’ve Had Plastic Surgery More Trustworthy & Masculine, Finds Study

Beauty treatments like cosmetic surgery, botox among others are gaining popularity, now more than ever. They appeal to not just those who earn their bread and butter from the beauty or entertainment industry but common man too is turning to cosmetic surgery to enhance his features. Though it’s more popular among women, men too choose to go under the knife for elective cosmetic surgical treatments.

No doubt, cosmetic surgeries when done right accentuate a man’s looks.
But a study has found another important and unexpected way in which men getting cosmetic surgery helps women.

According to the study published in Medical Daily, people tend to find men who undergo cosmetic procedures more likable and even trustworthy! The researchers have found that facial enhancements could effectively change people’s perception of a person.

“It is really interesting that different anatomic areas of the face have varying degrees of contribution to overall personality perception,” lead researcher Michael Reilly said. “And it is also noteworthy that the study did not find a significant change in masculinity. Just one procedure, a neck-lift, was found to enhance that trait,” he added.

For the study, 24 men who underwent facial procedures participated in the research at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. The researchers showed “before” and “after” photos of each participant to over 150 people. They were asked to rate the personality traits like aggressiveness, extroversion, likeability, risk-seeking, sociability, trustworthiness, attractiveness and masculinity for each one of them.

According to the results thus obtained, men with upper eyelid procedures showed more likeability and trustworthiness, on the other hand, a brow-lift was associated with extroversion and risk-taking.

So, science has proven, if you are looking to come across as trustworthy, you might want to consider braving the knife in cosmetic surgery! LOL!
