Donald Trump Fakes An Indian Accent To Imitate PM Narendra Modi

The current President of the United States of America, Donald Trump has been under scrutiny and criticism ever since he assumed office. His statements have sent waves across the world making him the target of trolls of the Internet.

But, does that stop him from going out and making outrageous statements? No. Whether it is talking about building a wall so that people from Mexico can’t get in the US, to body shaming a former Miss Universe. Trump leaves no stone unturned to get under the skin of people with his actions.

You might think that this is the zenith of his notorious behaviour but you couldn’t be more wrong.

According to the Washington Post, Trump imitates the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, with a fake Indian accent. It says,

“Senior administration officials said that the president has been known to affect an Indian accent and imitate Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who in an Oval Office meeting last year told him, “Never has a country given so much away for so little in return” as the United States in Afghanistan.”

They further elaborated and said that to Trump, Modi’s statement was proof that the rest of the world thought Afghanistan had taken advantage of the United States.

However, the officials aren’t sure about the authenticity of the statement, allegedly made by PM Modi.

Mimicking the Prime Minister of another country is definitely a low form of humour, at least for the President of a country. If my memory serves me correctly, I remember how he called Modi a “true friend” and the latter could not stop praising the hospitality of the White House either.

Talking about India on an earlier occasion he had explained to people about Indian call centre employees but had not mimicked an accent then. You can watch the video here:

Moreover, he faced backlash for mimicking the Puerto Rican accent while speaking about the condition of the victims of Hurricane Maria.
