When it comes to drugs, marijuana is a common name in ‘households’. Yet, like most other drugs, getting hold of marijuana is a tricky affair, despite it being the one of the least dangerous recreational drugs according to scientists.
But lately, the laws regarding the use of marijuana in some countries of the world have become more relaxed. So the potheads of the world, maybe it’s time you embark on one of the most epic journeys of your lives, namely, cannabis tourism, where you can smoke to your heart’s content without the law troubling you.
Here are 11 countries that you should totally visit if you’re into being high!
1. Uruguay
Taking a step that Nobel prize winner writer Mario Vargas Llosa praised as “courageous”, Uruguay has legalized all weed related matters. This country also boasts one of the cheapest rates of marijuana.
2. Portugal
Almost all drugs, including marijuana have been decriminalized in Portugal, which interestingly has brought in a significant decrease of “problem drug users”.
3. Spain
Spain has over 700 social clubs dedicated to marijuana, where you can grow and share pot with fellow potheads once you become a member.
 4. Jamaica
This ganja loving country that gave us Bob Marley was actually introduced to marijuana through Indians. And marijuana is considered as the ‘holy herb’ by the Jamaican Rastafarians, which is why it is smoked at their religious ceremonies.
5. Argentina
As per Supreme Court’s ruling, it’s unconstitutional to ban an adult from using marijuana if it’s not harming anyone else in this country. Argentina also has some of the best quality weeds imported from Paraguay.
6. Czech Republic
Beautiful cities like Prague offer both food for vision and recreation. You can ‘legally’ puff a smoke while walking through those pretty as picture alleys! Czech Republic has an existing stoner culture that celebrates April 20th with rest of the world to honour ‘420’ (cannabis culture).
7. North Korea
Believe it or not, apparently smoking marijuana is totally legal in North Korea. For a country that is continuously making headlines for it’s strict policies for it’s citizens and foreigners alike, it’s surprising to know that marijuana is not even considered as a drug there!
8. Germany
This country is talking about opening ‘cannabis clubs’, where people can become members and grow marijuana plants. Germany also has a stellar stoner culture, which should tell you how they treat the ‘subject’, eh?
9. USA
Some of the states, like Colorado, Oregon and Washington, have completely legalized the use of marijuana, while few other states are also quite liberal about it. April 20th of each year is celebrated as national cannabis day in USA, with people coming out on the roads in the states it is allowed. Also, don’t forget to try ‘weed pizza’!
10. Netherlands
Weed can be bought from coffee shops in Amsterdam, the party hub of the world, legally. Amsterdam also hosts the High Times Cannabis Cup, which is one of the world’s foremost cannabis festival, during the month of November each year.
