The Transformers, extraterrestrial robots who can turn into vehicles, began their journey as a toy line and soon evolved through its cartoon shows. However, they gloriously blasted onto the big-screen with Michael Bay at the helm and churned in millions of dollars. But as the cinematic franchise continued to produce movies, it quickly became known for its caricaturish performances, explosions and misogyny. So, it was time for a revamp.
The first teaser for ‘Bumblebee’ has arrived and the changes are very, very evident. There’s no denying that although Optimus Prime was hyped a lot, Bumblebee is the heart of the franchise. So, it’s so nice to see the creators focusing an entire story on his origins. And to add to every WWE fan’s excitement, the movie will also feature John Cena, who’ll probably hunt down Bee for the Government.

Those who’ve watched the first ‘Transformers’ movie might remember that Bobby Bolivia (played by Bernie Mac) had introduced us to Bumblebee. So, it was very heartening to hear his “car chooses the driver” dialogue in the trailer. In addition to that, fans might also notice that Starscream’s look has been modified to look like his G1 avatar. And finally, how cute does Bumblebee look in this trailer, OMG!
As much as I hate Michael Bay’s style, I love watching giant robots transform into cars and back again. And since the ‘Bumblebee’ trailer packs so much heart, a hint of Spielberg’s ‘E.T.’, a dash of ‘Herbie’ and a whole lot of action, I’m excited to watch it in the theaters.
