Though laws have been made to grant freedom and safeguard the rights of the LGBTQ community, the increasing number of hate crimes against them, refuse to cease. They often have to deal with vulgar comments, discrimination, and cruelty in the society, no matter what community or part of the world they belong to. They are many a time looked down upon by people all over the world.
In one such terrible case of immense inhumanity, a transgender woman was brutally beaten up by a group of men at Dallas, Texas recently. The police say that the trans woman, Muhlaysia Booker, accidentally hit accused, Edward Thomas’ car.
The man then ran towards Booker stopped her and threatened her with a gun to pay for the damage, reports BuzzFeed News. Following the brawl, someone offered the accused 200USD (which makes 14k INR approx.) to kick and punch Booker and he exactly did that!
The video of the inhumane act has gone viral on social media. Thomas is seen punching and kicking Booker brutally in the clip.
The viral video is receiving a lot of backlash from the people around the world. They have severely condemned the incident calling it a clear hate crime.
It is obviously a hate crime as the guy is literally a hitman paid to commit one

Whoever paid the $200 should be charged with hate crime. The dude getting paid should be charged with felony assault

A despicable and cowardly display of bullying & violence…even worse from the crowd that witnessed & encouraged it. I hope the authorities will take swift action against the people involved #TransIsBeautiful
