If you have been active on the Internet, you may have come across news of Kickass Torrents’ creator being arrested for flouting privacy laws.
Kickass Torrents was the second file sharing website to go down after The Pirate Bay.
It seems like the arrests related to Kickass Torrents got to the file sharing websites.
Torrentz. eu, which was the most used website to search torrents has been suddenly shut down.
The site still looks pretty normal when you type in the URL. But if you look closely, you will see the sad message
It says Torrentz “WAS” a free and powerful meta-search engine, instead of Torrentz “IS” a free and powerful meta-search engine, like it usually does.
If you type in the search bar it gives the following message that says – “Torrentz will always love you. Farewell.”
Torrentz.eu was the Internet’s biggest meta-search engine for torrents and the favorite site for netizens to download their favorite TV shows and movies – the ones that could not be accessed through legal means.
After this torrentz shut down, the question that follows now is, whether any new torrent websites will follow suit and shut down their operations, being apprehensive of police arrests.
