Forbes’ Has Released The 2016 List Of Top-Paid YouTube Celebrities And The Money Is Big!

Over the last few years, YouTube has evolved a great lot from people sharing funny home videos to huge production houses releasing movie trailers and exclusive web series. This evolution has lead to the rise of YouTubers sharing viral stuff on the site which has gained them worldwide popularity.

A lot of these vloggers are professionals who have earned some big bucks from sharing their content on YouTube and have become celebrities with a huge fan base around the world.

Forbes’ has recently released a ranking of the top-paid YouTube stars of 2016 and the list has some of the biggest names of the online community. Check it out.

1. Felix Arvid Urf Kjellberg (PewDiePie)- $15 million

Felix Arvid Urf Kjellberg, better known by ‘PewDiePie’ has maintained his rank from last year. The Swedish Youtuber is famous for his ‘Let’s Play’ videos in which he reacts and makes hilarious comments on video games as the game progresses.

 

2. Roman Atwood- $8 million

Roman Atwood is an American comedian and YouTuber who is known for his epic pranks which are amazingly detailed. The prankster earnings have increased by over 70% from last year.

 

3. Lilly Singh (Superwoman)- $7.5 million

Lilly Singh, commonly known as her YouTube alias ‘Superwoman’ is an Indian-Canadian rapper, actress and comedian. Her YouTube video takes a dig on everyday struggles and often include an Indian touch. She has also appeared in movies like ‘Speedy Singhs’, ‘Dr. Cabbie’ and ‘Thank You’.

 

4. Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla (Smosh)- $7 million

Smosh is a web-comedy channel started in 2003. The channel features comical videos and has now expanded to seven channels featuring exclusive content. The duo also starred in ‘Smosh: The movie’ last year and have another movie ‘Ghostmates’ lined up for release.

 

5. Rosanna Pansino -$6 million

Rosanna Pansino is an American baker best known for her cooking show ‘Nerdy Nummies’ in which she teaches how to bake a ‘nerdy-themed’ good. She has also appeared in TV shows like ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’, ‘Parks and Recreation’, and ‘Scream Queens’.

 

5. Tyler Oakley- $6 million

Tyler Oakley is tied for the 5th spot with Rosanna Pansino. Tyler, an American LGBT activist hosts a podcast in which he talks about LGBT rights, social issues, pop culture and humour.

 

7. Mark Fischbach (Markiplier)- $5.5 million

Mark Fischbach, commonly known by his YouTube alias Markiplier has gained 15.7 million subscribers in just over a year. The American Youtuber is known for his ‘overreactive reactions’ to gameplays.

 

7. Germán Garmendia (HolaSoyGerman)- $5.5 million

Germán Garmendia is the biggest YouTube star from South America. The Chilean musician and comedian is the youngest person on the list and has 48 million subscribers across his 3 channels. He is tied for the seventh spot with Markiplier.

 

9. Rhett and Link- $5 million

Rhett and Link are an American comedy duo consisting of Rhett Mclaughlin and Charles Neal. The duo calls themselves ‘Intertainers’ (Internet Entertainers) and their YouTube channel is known for viral videos, comedy songs and web-series.

 

9. Colleen Ballinger (Miranda Sings)- $5 million

Colleen Ballinger is an American comedian and singer. Her YouTube channel features her alter ego ‘Miranda Sings’ singing comical songs. Colleen’s Miranda channel has over 7 million subscribers and her character’s Instagram account has 5 million followers.
