‘We Tested For Coronavirus, It Was Positive’, Says Tom Hanks About Wife Rita Wilson & Himself

The World Health Organization has officially declared that the coronavirus outbreak to be a “pandemic” with 118,000 infections and 4000 deaths, reports CNN. The COVID-19 has reported cases all over the globe with the only exception being Antarctica but no drug or vaccine yet. All the research is still in the pre-clinical stage.

According to The New York Times, 63-year-old actor Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson who were in Australia to shoot a film based on Elvis Presley’s life have been tested positive for the virus.

The actor took to his social media to inform fans of his health saying, “We felt a bit tired like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers, too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the coronavirus, and were found to be positive.”

He added that both of them “will be tested, observed and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires.”

The Indian Government has now suspended all tourist visas and e-visas granted on or before March 11, 2020, till April 15, 2020. All non-essential travel has been discouraged, reports Business Traveller. Till this pandemic is contained, the Ministry of Health has outlined precautions to keep ourselves safe from the disease.

We wish Tom & Rita a speedy recovery.
