Tokyo Looks Like A Winter Wonderland After Experiencing The Highest Snowfall In 4 Years

The end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018 has been a really unusual time when we speak about weather changes across the globe. Whether it is the crazy winds in Netherland or snowfall in the Sahara Desert, the Stark house words are not just fiction anymore. Winter is literally upon us.

Joining the leagues of the record-breakers, Tokyo recorded the highest snowfall in four years on Monday, 22nd January 2018. So much so that the Meteorological Agency declared a heavy snowfall alert in all of 23 wards of Tokyo.

It was the first time for a warning about heavy snowfall to go out since February 2014. About 10 centimetres of snow is expected on Tuesday, 23rd January.

While we definitely hope the people are safe and find warmth, the pictures of the capital city are B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L., to say the least. You don’t have to take my word for it though, I’ve got proof. Check this out:

1. Contrary to my usual pattern, presenting the best (and my favourite) first.

2. This looks like wallpaper material, no? ?

3. The cool blue tint is adding to the aesthetics.

4. Looks like the stars are falling from the sky.

5. Pink blossom has never looked prettier than this.

6. The only thing amiss is a couple sharing a romantic moment because this is the perfect setting for that!

7. This looks so surreal.

8. He/She walks a lonely road, the only one they’ve ever known. ?

9. Wait, what? Self-defence force?

10. A tree made of snow. Wow.

11. This lone rose seems so symbolic in a way – snow being the evil that can’t harm the beauty of the rose. #kaafideep ?

12. Is it just me or does this remind you of ‘White Christmas’?

13. The cold never bothered me anyway.

14. That perfectly placed snowman emoji is stealing the show, though.

15. Looks like an art exhibit.

16. Where did they find the wardrobe leading to Narnia?

17. Time stands still…literally.

As per several reports, the situation is really bad currently. With traffic disruptions, people slipping and public transport halted, I’m sure it isn’t easy for the ones experiencing it first hand. And although I wish them warmth and safety, I can’t help but admire the natural beauty that this created.

It’s true what they say, an abundance of nature is beautiful but also scary.
