Indian weightlifter Mirabai Chanu made the nation proud by bagging the silver medal in the 49 kg category at the Tokyo Olympics. Earlier, Mirabai participated at the Rio Olympics, but couldn’t score a win. Hence, her silver medal was a much awaited one and it’s India’s second Olympic medal in the sport. The first being the bronze won by Karnam Malleswari 21 years ago at the Sydney Games.
While desi janta clamoured to wish the athlete, Tisca Chopra too took to twitter to extend her heartiest congratulations. However, she mistakenly tweeted a photo of Indonesian weightlifter Windy Cantika Aisah instead of Chanu, reports HT.
Take a look at her now-deleted tweet-
Right after her tweet, people online pointed out the gaffe and criticized Chopra for her mistake.
She is not Mirabai Chanu. She is the Indonesian lifter who won bronze 🥉 https://t.co/p1jnFJeVAe

Wannabe proud much? Putting wrong image for a national hero is so disrespectful 😶😶

Soon after receiving backlash Chopra deleted the post and tweeted her apology.
