UK Man Shares Unwanted Messages He Received After Indians Thought He Was Tim Paine

Team India won at the Gabba yesterday and clinched the Border-Gavaskar trophy after a brilliant run chase aided by Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, and ‘Spiderman Spiderman’ Rishabh Pant. And while cricket fans were busy celebrating the historic win, some people took the opportunity to slam Australian skipper Tim Paine for his sledging earlier.

But a man named Tim Payne from the UK mistakenly got caught in the crossfire as his name resembles that of the Aussie captain. According to News18, his Instagram account got spammed with unwanted comments and messages.

He shared some of the screenshots of people trolling him and others apologizing for the confusion. Take a look.

Later, he poked fun at the mix-up by saying that he had inadvertently become the most hated man in India and now hates cricket himself. He also shared a morphed photo of him at the Brisbane Cricket Ground as a joke, reports Mumbai Mirror.

This isn’t the first time a mix-up has happened though. A while back, people wrongly slammed Microsoft Excel instead of Surf Excel and left negative reviews for the former.
