‘Thugs Of Hindostan’ Trailer Is Out And It’s Desi Pirates V/s East India Company This Diwali!

I have been a hard core fan of Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer’s Pirates of the Caribbean. Johnny Depp’s iconic Captain Jack Sparrow will forever remain one of my favourite characters. Probably why I am super excited to witness what a desi version of a pirate swashbuckler would look like! Enter: Thugs of Hindostan!

YRF just dropped the tailer of its pirate adventure, Thugs of Hindostan, like it’s hot!

And believe me, with an ensemble cast that includes Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh, what else would it be?

So, PIRATES! Thugs takes us back to an India that was slowly becoming the domain of the East India Company, and how one thug, ‘Azad’ and his gang were stirring up a storm in its flowing plans.

And so, the Company enlists the help of a buccaneer, Firangi, to bring Azad to boot.

Aamir Khan’s Firangi has been compared majorly to Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow. And considering they’re both excellent actors, we wonder what Khan will bring to the character! Plus, Aamir Khan teaming with the British in India is quite the combo, right?

Fatima Sana Shaikh is Zafira, another fierce thug who looks like she can put the fear of the depths in the hearts of her enemies.

As for Katrina Kafi, who plays Suraiyya, we can only guess for now how she fits into Firangi’s plan! But she sure as hell stuns in her avatar!

Based on Philip Meadows Taylor’s 1839 novel Confessions of a Thug, this is the story of how a gang of thugs stirs up massive trouble for the British Empire in India in the 18th century.

Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, produced by Aditya Chopra, and with music by composers Ajay-Atul, Thugs of Hindostan promises a swashbuckling treat this Diwali! Watch the trailer here:
