12 Things You Need To Know About Being With An Introvert

“The quietest people have the loudest minds.”

Being the full-blown extrovert that I am, I have had a lot of friends who are the exact opposite. In fact, one my closest friends is a proud introvert herself. Entering the world of an introvert is an experience in itself; it makes you realize the true value of the phrase ‘never judge a book by its cover’. They might seem really shy and quiet, but once you get to know them, they’re a big bundle of surprises waiting to be experienced.

Since I’ve been with them, I’ve figured a few things you need to understand about being with them. Here they are.

1. They’re very observant, so they will definitely notice something you didn’t

They’ll see what you conveniently missed.

2. Introverts also liked to be listened to

Contrary to popular belief, introverts like to talk too. They like being heard; they have wonderful stories to share as well. So, the next time you’re yapping your head off, hold on for a second and ask them about their day.

3. They might be obsessed with you just as you are with them, but they keep that to themselves

They’re not the best with communication through words.

4. Don’t jump into something unless you can sense they want it too

Unlike extroverts, they like taking things at a slower pace. So, chances are that they might not be where you are.

5. Sometimes, it might get difficult for them to communicate, so hold on and read them

Read their face. Their eyes. Read between the lines. They’re not always upfront.

6. No matter how much you try, introverts will only connect with a handful of people

You cannot make them hang out with people they don’t want to hang out with, so don’t bother trying.

7. Watch out for the small hints they give you to show you they like you

Since they’re not the best with mushy, sweet talking, they channel their affection in other ways- through indirect statements, adorable gestures like going out of their way with helping you out, and touching.

8. They absolutely love being left alone at times

And they don’t mind silent moments every now and then. It’s how they recharge.

9. Starting the silent treatment with them is probably not the best idea

They will abso-fucking-lutely beat you.

10. If they decide to come out with you to a crowded event, they really must like you

They would ordinarily like to spend their nights reading or watching a movie alone or with a few close friends, but when they agree to go out with you to a pub, you should know that you mean something to them.

11. Introverts aren’t necessarily shy

They’re quiet, but they’re definitely not all shy.

12. Once they’ve become comfortable with you, they will show you a side that not everyone gets to see often

That’s when you can’t tell which one of you is the extrovert, and which one the introvert. 🙂
