Weddings are an elaborate affair. If you haven’t organised or been a part of one, you won’t have any idea about the kind of effort, planning and management that goes into creating those dream-like parties for a couple. But it takes only a bunch of angry buffoons and a few minutes to decimate the ceremony.
According to The News Minute, a wedding in Uppusaka village in Telangana was disrupted after a scuffle broke between the groom’s friends and some people from the bride’s side. CI of Burgampad, Ramesh said that,
“When they went on the dias, it couldn’t accommodate all of them, and someone from the bride’s side told them to get down. Agitated by this, they picked a fight with them, and this led to a clash between the two groups.”
The Kothagudem police reported that the friends of the groom (basically all the residents of Kothagudem) arrived at the wedding absolutely drunk. And their aim was to garland the couple by getting onto the stage they were on.

Reportedly, at least 10 people were injured at the wedding venue. However, things didn’t end there as both parties continued their fight at the hospital where the injured were being treated. A Telangana SI said,
“Before they quarrelled with the relatives of the bride, these accused fought among themselves. In one such instance, when someone from the bride’s family tried to intervene, they attacked him.”
Based on the bride’s father, Ajmera Bhikya’s complaint, the police has filed a case under section 324 (causing hurt by dangerous weapons) and 427 (mischief causing damage) against the bride’s brother and other, who are yet to be identified.
There have been multiple reports (Zee News, India.com) that this whole fight was caused due to a disagreement about the wedding menu. But Kothagudem SP Sunil Dutt said,
“The videos of the fight circulating as an issue over mutton are completely false.”
There’s no doubt that the groom’s paltan were extremely happy to see their friend getting married. But maybe it’s not a great idea to showcase that in such a violent way. Because at the end of the day, it’s his night.
