Cyberabad Police Detains 4 Suspects After A 27-YO Veterinarian Is Assaulted, Killed & Set On Fire

On the night of November 27, a woman from Telangana filed a missing persons report in Shamshabad Rural Police Station for her sister, a 27-year-old veterinary doctor. The next morning, a milk vendor found a burning body at Shadnagar outskirts which was later identified as the missing veterinarian.

According to The Times of India, the victim left her home at 5.30 pm to consult a dermatologist in Gachibowli. She parked her two-wheeler at Tondupally toll plaza and hailed a cab to the clinic. When she returned to pick up her two-wheeler at 8 pm, it had a flat tyre.

The Indian Express quoted a police officer saying,

“Her sister told her to leave the vehicle at the toll plaza parking and return home in a cab, and she agreed. A few minutes later, she called her sister back and said a couple of people had offered to get the tyre repaired and taken the vehicle with them. She told her sister that she felt awkward waiting on the side of the road all alone. After some time, her phone was switched off, and when the family could not trace her till midnight, they lodged a complaint at Shamshabad police station.”

According to The Washington Post, law enforcement authorities suspect that the victim’s bike was deliberately punctured so that the perpetrators could approach her on the pretext of getting it repaired.

Reports suggest that two of them took her vehicle while the other two overpowered her. She was then sexually assaulted, killed and set ablaze. After assessing CCTV footage and other evidence, Cyberabad Police have detained a truck driver, his assistant and two others in connection with the horrific crime.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family. We hope that the criminals are found soon and given appropriate punishment.
