In countries like the US, kids get to earn their pocket money by working. They voluntarily either take up part-time jobs like at a cafe or tutor/babysit younger kids. Instead of being frowned upon, many believe that it is a good way to learn the value of money and hard work.
Similarly, a school boy in Telangana’s Jagtial town named Jai Prakash was recently spotted delivering newspapers in a cycle, reports The Indian Express. When asked, he confidently says that there’s nothing wrong with working hard alongside studying.
A video of the incident was posted by KT Rama Rao, a Minister in the Telangana government. Have a look at the video here:
Loved this video from Jagtial Town
This young lad a Govt school student called Jai Prakash; loved his confidence, composure and clarity of thought & expression 👏👏
He says what’s wrong in working while studying & goes on to say it’ll keep him in good stead in future pic.twitter.com/Ug4wYIGn8a

Several people online lauded the boy for working from such a young age. Many gave examples of famous personalities like APJ Abdul Kalam and Warren Buffet who started working young and went on to achieve great heights in the future.
I personally feel govt. Should take an initiative to sponsor such bright kids who deserve some sought of push

Importance of Work & Money should be taught at schools only. #WarrenBuffett started his career as a paper boy.The boy might Be Inspirational to many https://t.co/5Sc554TyXC students in #Telangana. Innovation & Problem Solving must be taught at early age only. thanks 🙏to #KTR Sir

Very nice, India needs boys like him with positive spirit and diligent. Unlike today’s common boys, instead of gaming on mobile, he is working part time and studying as well. Then there won’t be Employment problem in India. I liked the boy.

While some asked whether this is ‘child labour’, others clarified that it’s not unless a kid is forced to work against their will, receive a meagre wage, and is exploited.
Extremely heartening to see this level of confidence and clarity. This generation thinks very different, imagine where they’ll lead the country to.

Even in Hyderabad a good number of news paper delivery boys are school going children. They earn while learning.I am sure they become responsible citizens when they grow up.

He is ready for any challenges – reservations, entitlements, neets, eamcets, jees, language chauvanists, racial profilers, supremacists etc. Nothing should stop him. Proud to have walked that exact space, albeit 30 years ago. My hometown ❤❤ https://t.co/NcuoYascYR
