Teacher Makes Kids Wear Cardboard Boxes On Top Of Their Heads To Prevent Cheating

Remember when we were in school and our teachers went out of their way to make sure nobody cheated during exams? I remember our seats being organised in a particular manner in which there was a massive space between me and the student sitting beside and behind me. As if strict invigilation and giving differently ordered question papers weren’t enough!

However, a particular school in Mexico faced backlash for a bizarre step to stop their students from cheating. A particular teacher allegedly made the students wear cardboard boxes on top of their heads to prevent them from looking elsewhere and cheat!

According to sources, the incident took place in the central Mexican state of Tlaxcala. After one parent took a picture of the students wearing cardboard boxes on their heads and posted it on social media, parents have been demanding the dismissal of the teacher in-charge.

The cardboard boxes had 2 holes in the front side so that the students could be able to see.

“We hope that this type of violence against the Tlaxcalteca youth is not overlooked, and that the federal and state authorities dismiss this public official and that they cease this type of humiliation in a space destined for learning,” said a parent.

In response to the controversy, the school said that it was a “dynamic exercise” to help “the students’ psychomotor development” and was performed with the full consent of the students.

Is it me or does this method actually sound good? Imagine having his experiment done in one of our schools!
