Tanushree Dutta Slams Rakhi Sawant, Says It Was ‘The Biggest Insult’ To Be Replaced By Her

Actress Tanushree Dutta is on a revelation spree. In an exclusive interview with Zoom TV, the actress has managed to dish on quite a few controversial issues and incidents involving Bollywood, such as the casting of heroines in movies, industry’s attitude towards sexual misconduct and so on.

Tanushree reiterated that Hollywood’s revolutionary #MeToo movement might fail to make an impact in Bollywood. She referred to the 2009 controversy on the sets of Horn Ok Pleassss, where she had alleged that Nana Patekar had harassed her.

Tanushree spoke about how the entire incident unfolded. And yet, no one from the industry did anything about it.

Tanushree even went guns blazing at Rakhi Sawant, who was brought in to replace her in the item song that Tanushree had walked out on after the abovementioned incident with Nana Patekar.

She called this replacement choice ‘the biggest insult’.

“After this incident, they brought in who? Rakhi Sawant on the sets. Biggest Insult! My replacement Rakhi Sawant, Okay!”

Good morning sweetheart friends

“I mean… I have nothing to say about her as a woman but as a human being I definitely needed to be replaced by someone a little more classy.”

Furthermore, what had irked Tanushree above it all was Rakhi’s hurtful attitude towards the whole situation after coming in as Tanushree’s replacement.

“What does she do? She comes onto the sets, she replaces me and then she starts talking shit about me. I remember her statement, ‘Uske Shareer me golds and diamonds lage hai kya jo usko chu nahi sakte?”

Tanushree called out Rakhi Sawant for her lack of empathy for another woman and failing to understand and act appropriately in the delicate situation.

She claimed to hold nothing against Rakhi for taking up the gig, saying that she understands why women might have to think from a financial perspective to undertake such abandones roles.

Howevever, Tanushree wished that Rakhi should’ve just kept her head down and got the job done.

“Being a woman herself, not Even trying to understand the situation of what really must’ve happened! If you’ve taken up the work then just quietly do the work and walk away. Why do you have to trash me also?”

You can watch the interview here.

The merit or lack thereof in the actress’ allegations notwithstanding, Tanushree Dutta’s argument against Rakhi Sawant’s judgemental outlook does make fair point. It may be completely fine to replace an actress on a controversial job. However, demeaning each other would get you nowhere.

We’ll have to watch out and see if Rakhi comes back with a video reply to this.
