The wedding of NRI Tanay Warerkar (28) and American resident John Webley (28) took place on August 18th last year. The unique feat of the wedding however, was more than just the wedding itself.
This gay wedding also brought in a fusion of the two cultures the grooms belong to! John shared his thoughts regarding the wedding, saying-
“We wanted our wedding to be a fusion of both our cultures – Maharashtrian and Californian. But with every ritual, we added our own modern twist. We wanted the event to be two things, fun and enchanting.”
Tanay donned a baby pink suit along with a flower pocket square and looked like a dreamy prince, while John wore a royal floral sherwani paired with a grey stole and dressed his head in matching safa for their big day.
John put in an incredible amount of work to get all of the details and decorations perfect on this day. The website of the photographers who snapped these pictures revealed it as the only Bay Area wedding they’ve so far shot where the couple didn’t hire a coordinator/planner. This was a real team effort for a DIY, backyard Indian wedding and it’s something that you’ve never seen before.
The mesmerizing colors of this wedding have made the world a brighter place and we wish the couple an amazing journey ahead!
