Tamil Nadu Bride Performs Various Types Of Martial Arts To Entertain Guests On Wedding Day

All that a bride is expected to do on her wedding day is maintain some laaj, sharam, and nazaakat. Breaking into a dance, having a glass of wine, or generally enjoying your wedding day goes against the invisible rulebook for many Indian brides. However, off late, some brides have been claiming their right on having some fun and are coming up with creative ways to do so!

For example, a 22-year-old bride in Tamil Nadu, named Nisha, stunned the wedding guests with her martial arts skills. According to India Today, dressed in her wedding attire and jewellery, Nisha performed martial arts with dangerous weapons in an open space minutes after the marriage. The incident took place on June 28 in Thirukolur village.

Nisha was encouraged to pursue martial arts by her mother who believes that every woman must know how to protect herself and keep herself fit. Nisha’s motive was not only to entertain guests but also to spread awareness about the importance of women learning self-defense, reports TNIE.

Her performance included martial art forms such as Surul Vaal Veechu and Adimurai.

Her husband, who is a diploma-holder and a farmer, wanted Nisha to showcase her martial arts skills on their wedding day.
